Overview

SUMMARY:  Work with a dynamic group in Los Angeles handling all day to day activities in the ocean Hawaii service lane for major clients that would include Customer Service and Technical solutions for those clients.

This role contributes to Lynden International’s Overall Customer Experience by effectively interacting and supporting our customers in our ocean Hawaii service lane.

The job handles all aspects of customer service and requires managing our logistics service providers to deliver best in class performance to our valued customers.

 

With operations spanning the globe, Lynden International provides complete coverage to most major world markets. We provide air and ocean freight forwarding, expedited ground freight services, customs brokerage, logistics and other specialized services like facility management, charters, reverse logistics and assembly and distribution. We are the proverbial “one-stop shop” for any transportation or shipping need.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

Works with cartage provider, carriers and Lynden International operational staff on resolving warehouse, cartage, and other logistics issues.

 

Vendor negotiations for price and service and customer quoting for individual shipments as well as large comprehensive RFQ.

 

Maintain and expand Pricing models used in our Project business

 

Perform all aspects of customer service.

 

Yearly project work that will involve all aspects of Logistics in a comprehensive distribution plan and will include project management

 

Identifies root causes of service failures, recommends solutions, and implements recommendations.

 

Prepare and execute SOP’s and SOW’s

 

Weekend on call responsibilities based on a rotating on call schedule typically 1-2 times per month

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school education or equivalent and five years progressive work experience in operations, or a four-year degree plus two years operations experience.  Business degree preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, comprehend, and write routine instructions, correspondence, and memos.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as tariffs, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Excellent telephone and written & verbal interpersonal skills to effectively present information in writing and in person in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
