Overview

SUMMARY

Lynden Air Cargo is a US part 121 all-cargo airline based in Anchorage, Alaska. Lynden Air Cargo conducts operations within Alaska as well as other locations around the world, utilizing its fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft. Lynden's structure provides employees with the family environment of a smaller company, and the competitiveness, expectations and rewards of a large, global organization. Coordinates, audits, and performs revenue accounting functions, including the recording, calculating, processing, posting, verifying, and maintaining data for flight activity associated revenue, costs, billing, and account receivable records.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Collects flight information and enters revenue and freight shipments for military contracts, Lower 48 and international flights; verifies all flight activity using Company software in conjunction with Flight Operations Software (FOS).
  2. Maintains AMC contract activity binders and logs. Prepares and submits monthly fuel summary.
  3. Manifests and completes flight entry. Maintains documentation of flight records.
  4. Verifies revenue entry for all flights; audits unposted House Airway Bill (HAWB) report and resolves discrepancies.
  5. Closes revenue batch month and prepares revenue report.
  6. Completes revenue accrual summaries and reports for month-end journal entries.
  7. Audits all essential flight-related reports for input accuracy and completeness.
  8. Processes, submits and maintains carrier activity and landing reports for various airports.
  9. Prepares and submits quarterly APHIS reports.
  10. Processes and maintains billing in Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) for military contracts.
  11. Processes and maintains billing for oil spill response and other contracts, as required.
  12. Maintains fuel inventory reporting and the files for fuel usage. Maintains and distributes weekly fuel price data.
  13. Maintains and submits flight schedule change notifications for the (Official Airline Guide) OAG.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE                                          

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or related field from four-year college or university; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS                                               

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations before groups or customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS                                                

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY                                           

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES                                                 

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Excel pivot table experience a plus. Familiar with DOT statistical reporting software helpful. Ten-key by touch required. Must be able to operate fax, copier, scanner, and basic office equipment.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS                                            

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT                                                    

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
