Lynden Air Cargo is a US part 121 all-cargo airline based in Anchorage, Alaska. Lynden Air Cargo conducts operations within Alaska as well as other locations around the world, utilizing its fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft. Lynden's structure provides employees with the family environment of a smaller company, and the competitiveness, expectations and rewards of a large, global organization. Performs routine and non-routine maintenance on Company aircraft, aircraft components and ground support equipment. Performs routine shop and ramp upkeep.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs all assigned work in accordance with established policies and procedures as governed by Lynden Air Cargo's GMM and applicable CFR's.
Performs routine aircraft maintenance under direct supervision and commensurate with training level and demonstrated skills.
Works independently on well-defined tasks.
Records all work performed on appropriate forms.
Reports any abnormal conditions or discovered discrepancies to appropriate supervisory personnel.
Works toward airframe and powerplant certificates through documented on-the-job training.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or minimum one year maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including but not limited to maintenance manuals, wiring schematics, and structural repair manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to use common sense and sound judgment to deal with situations and multiple problems in a highly controlled and regulated environment. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be reliable and demonstrate the ability to perform maintenance duties. Manual dexterity and accuracy required.
Must complete airframe and powerplant certificates through documented on-the job training within a reasonable period of time.
Must furnish all hand tools of the variety and quantity to properly accomplish assigned duties.
Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, nights or holidays and to be away from home for extended periods of time.
Must be available to travel domestically, to Canada and other international locations without restrictions, including entrance onto foreign military bases.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
