Lynden Air Cargo is a US part 121 all-cargo airline based in Anchorage, Alaska. Lynden Air Cargo conducts operations within Alaska as well as other locations around the world, utilizing its fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft. Lynden's structure provides employees with the family environment of a smaller company, and the competitiveness, expectations and rewards of a large, global organization. This position enters shipment information into computer system and performs other office operation functions associated with domestic shipments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Enters house air waybills (HAWB's) and other shipment information into computer system.
Enters proofs of delivery (POD).
Performs customer service for both internal and external customers, including answering phone calls, greeting customers, working with warehouse personnel, and answering emails.
Files records and maintains recordkeeping system.
Assists Customer Service Supervisor with customer account activity.
May be required to work other shifts when assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics to calculate percentages and freight rates, including the effect of dimensioned weight.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to use sound judgment and common sense in dealing with problems. Ability to make quick decisions in a fully and competent manner with little supervision. Ability to handle stressful situations in a competent and professional manner.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
HazMat Certification (Basic Awareness of Air Cargo Shipments of Hazardous Materials). Training provided upon hire if not HazMat certified.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to use all types of office equipment, including 10-key calculator, typewriter, and extensive use of telephone.
Familiar with computer, keyboarding, and word processing, including emails.
Ability to interact with dock personnel to identify and coordinate daily shipments.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
