The Director of Training is responsible for all activities pertaining to Flight Crew Member, Flight Control Agent, and Loadmaster training in accordance with applicable regulations contained in 14 CFR Part 121 and Lynden Air Cargo policy. The Director of Training will develop and maintain appropriate, training manuals, syllabus and as well as supplemental training material.Lynden Air Cargo is a US part 121 all-cargo airline based in Anchorage, Alaska. Lynden Air Cargo conducts operations within Alaska as well as other locations around the world, utilizing its fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Leads Operations Department in the standardization and scheduling of training events. Develops, or oversees development of, and maintains curriculum to meet customer and CFR mandated requirements. Oversees management of the training process.
Participates in and provides training guidance to other operational departments including Flight Control agents and Loadmasters.
Directly involved with the scheduling of all training resources including Ground Instructors, Flight Instructors, simulators, classrooms and additional required equipment.
Forecasts training budgets and staffing to meet Company requirements.
Takes lead in developing training programs for new missions or technology.
Coordinates with Crew Scheduling or appropriate departmental heads regarding training travel and accommodations.
Assists in managing technical projects involving flight department including, but not limited to Electronic Flight Bag, Electronic Training Delivery methods, Computer Based Training, and others as required.
Consults with Director of Operations and Chief Pilot when necessary on decisions regarding additional training or training failures.
Provides advice and support to Director of Operations and Chief Pilot in applications for operations specifications, exemptions, deviations or other products which would benefit from his/her expertise.
Ensures training department and staff compliance with FAA, Lynden Air Cargo, and customer requirements when applicable.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum four year operational experience in part 121 air carrier, preference given to training-related capacity.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and manuals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from flight operations personnel.
Ability to read, interpret, complex training regulations and apply them to unique situations.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to resolve issues. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Microsoft Publisher and Access helpful. Possess strong organization and leadership skills.
Must be available to travel domestically and internationally without restrictions. Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, nights or holidays, if required.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
