  • Overview

    The Stores Clerk performs all aspects of shipping, receiving, and inventory control for the Maintenance Department. Lynden Air Cargo is a US part 121 all-cargo airline based in Anchorage, Alaska. Lynden Air Cargo conducts operations within Alaska as well as other locations around the world, utilizing its fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Maintains aircraft spares inventory in accordance with regulations and Company procedures.
    2. Receives and processes incoming parts for Stores and/or shipment as directed by Stores Supervisor.
    3. Follows departmental procedures and uses independent judgment in organizing and controlling routine storage, purchase of supplies/equipment and other projects as assigned.
    4. Ensures that the Stores Supervisor is apprised of rotable and expendable part levels to maintain an adequate supply.
    5. Prepares outgoing shipments, through direction of the Stores Supervisor, including International or Domestic invoicing, relevant to specific shipping method and destination.
    6. Performs data entry in TRAX, at time of shipment, to capture parts movement/transfer within the LAC system.
    7. Ensures compliance with Company, FAA, ITAR, Customs, and Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) regulations.
    8. Ensures that parts are labeled properly according to ITAR regulations.
    9. Files purchase orders (P.O.), repair orders (R.O.), and all order-related documents.
    10. Picks up supplies and parts for the Maintenance Department using company vehicle, as assigned or as necessary.
    11. Monitor Fly Away Kit (FAK) inventory; maintain FAK inventory spreadsheets.
    12. Conducts monthly cycle counts of inventory.
    13. Completes teardown reports for unserviceable parts and segregates from serviceable parts.

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or, one year of related experience or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors and other employees of the organization.


    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to apply common sense and sound judgment in dealing with problems that occur in a highly controlled and regulated environment.

    Ability to operate forklift, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Knowledge of FAR's related to aircraft parts; knowledge of HAZMAT and customs requirements. Ability to maintain inventory control using TRAX computer software. Knowledge of Windows, MS Word and MS Excel software.

    Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, nights or holidays and to be away from home for extended periods of time on occasion. Must be available to travel domestically, to Canada and other international locations without restrictions, including entrance onto foreign military bases.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
